When Lovie Smith was named as the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers one year after being fired from the Chicago Bears one of the first questions was if Smith would be luring any of his former player in Chicago to Tampa.

Smith’s best player during his tenure in Chicago, Brian Urlacher, has an offer to join Smith for a week during training camp, according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune.

"“He asked me to come help and hang out for a week in training camp,” Urlacher said Tuesday afternoon at a Fox Sports event in advance of Super Bowl XLVIII. “I’m not a very good coach.”"

Don’t expect Urlacher to be joining Lovie as a full-time employee as a coach or as a player anytime soon as Urlacher tells Biggs he didn’t miss playing football at all this year.

However, the reunion with Lovie and Urlacher could be the second reunion as free agent cornerback, Charles Tillman could be a priority for the Buccaneers in free agency, but Urlacher doesn’t see a scenario that the Bears could let him walk away.

“Awesome player,” he said. “I don’t see how they could let him go. The things he has done for that organization the last 11 years he has been there, the player he has become and the teammate that he is. Great teammate, great leader, good guy in the locker room. I don’t see how you could let him go.”
