While appearing on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, former Los Angeles Lakers’ great and current Los Angeles Dodgers’ owner Magic Johnson once again decided to rip into Lakers’ head coach Mike D’Antoni, saying “we got to have a championship coach” and not bringing back former coach Phil Jackson “was a critical mistake.” (You can watch the video here)

On Tuesday, D’Antoni was asked about Johnson’s comments.

He simply replied “no” when asked if he had any thoughts on Johnson’s comments at shootaround.

“Normally I don’t hear it until [the media] brings it up,” D’Antoni told Dave McMenamin of ESPN Los Angeles. “There’s voices everywhere, and it’s a hard job to do no matter what team you’re with. You do the best you can and you feel like every day is a new battle, and everybody has their opinion. There’s a saying about that . . . So, that’s the way it is. You go on and do your job.”

The Lakers will host the Indiana Pacers Tuesday at 10:30 pm EST.
