The 2014 NBA Draft is expected to be one of the deepest in recent memory.
It just got deeper as foreign guard Dante Exum has declared his eligibility.
The 6’6 Australian talent has general managers across the league salivating given his size and talent combination with many believing he’d be in play as the top overall pick if he was playing college basketball in the United States.
Australian phenom Dante Exum has decided to declare for the 2014 NBA draft, his family and agent told ESPN.com on Tuesday.
His jump shot is still a work in progress — the primary weakness in his game. If he were playing college ball in the U.S., many NBA scouts believe he would be a serious contender for the No. 1 overall pick.
It’s hard to predict exactly where Exum will go in the draft as we don’t really know what other top prospects currently plan to do (stay in school or declare), but it’s hard to imagine Exum goes any lower than the fifth spot.
Exum is just 18 years old, so there will be plenty of growing pains moving forward, but the talent is undeniable.
