It appears as if Wes Welker just can’t quit Tom Brady.

The Denver Broncos wide receiver spent five seasons catching passes from the New England Patriots quarterback, so when he departed in free agency, I’m sure it was a little awkward. But it’s just a business after all and Welker and Brady remain good friends.

Brady recently came out and suggested that he’d be rooting for Welker (didn’t mention the Broncos or Seahawks) in the Super Bowl. Welker meanwhile told members of the media that he and Brady are still great friends, talk often and even exchange texts after games.

"“We just text after the game and stuff like that, but he’s a good friend of mine, and we wish nothing but the best for each other,” Welker said."

While Welker was more than happy to discuss his friendship with Brady, he wasn’t about to get into a comparison between his former quarterback and his current one in Peyton Manning, suggesting he had talked about the subject ‘ad nauseam’ all season and wasn’t interested in doing so any longer.
