“You got Marshawn Lynch and Richard Sherman…two extremes…and you guys (media) aren’t happy with either one of them.” – Emmitt Smith.

Emmitt Smith did an interview on the Dan Patrick Show and was asked about Marshawn Lynch and media day in general. After saying that he understood that there is a player responsibility for them to the media, the Hall of Fame Dallas Cowboys running back went on an entertaining rant about the realities of Super Bowl media Day. The money quote above was his how he finished it.
Smith was brutal as an analyst on television with ESPN, but interviews like this one make it understandable why a network would have given the all time great back a shot at it. When he has a take, he can be entertaining with it and delivers it well. Much like Magic Johnson, he is a great interview but best taken in small doses.
He, like Michael Irvin, is painfully loyal to Jerry Jones to the point where he is obnoxiously evasive when any questions that could lead to criticism are asked. They are loyal to the Cowboys to a fault, which is also on display in this interview.
As soon as the video is available for the interview, it will be added.
