NBA Rumors: Los Angeles Lakers may overpay for Eric Bledsoe in offseason

Eric Bledsoe once played in Los Angeles for the Clippers prior to the team acquiring Chris Paul, but he may be on his way back there this summer. Bledsoe may be returning to Los Angeles but it won’t be in a Clippers uniform, rather a purple and gold Lakers one.

According to ESPN insider Chris Broussard, the Lakers are prepared to make a serious run at Bledsoe this offseason and may end up overpaying him to wrestle the point guard away from the Phoenix Suns.

Los Angeles is already looking ahead to ways they can improve the roster and rebuild without having to actually go through the pains of rebuilding the roster through the draft. One way to speed up the process is to sign a young and experienced point guard like Bledsoe, something the Lakers seem willing to do according to Broussard.

The Suns won’t let Bledsoe go easily though, as Suns owner Robert Sarver said he’s going to bring his guard back this summer no matter what.

Bledsoe is a restricted free agent, meaning it’s very likely that the Lakers will set a high price and see if they can’t win a game of chicken with the Suns.

Is he a better long term point then Marshall ??? If Marshall had say Steve Nash (goes out on Medical but comes back as an asst. coach) teach/train/tooter him the rest of this year, how truly good would she be, would he be a top 5 point, top 7 ???

Marshall is a lot like Jason Kidd.. Amazing at passing and making shots, but (at times) the average shooting and mediocre defense has it’s limitations.

Find the perfect balance: Add a PG who excels at shooting and defense, and leave the passing wizardry to Marshall. – Lowry would be a lot cheaper, an UNRESTRICTED free agent, and still has 2 uninjured knees.

This still weighs on whether they can actually sign him to a contract. Bledsoe knows he is going to be paid and now that Phoenix is looking like a Playoff team, with a ton of young talent, why would he want to leave? Just because the Lakers are going to look to overpay him, doesn’t mean he will want to sign. And even if they are able to sign him, Phoenix will most likely match.
