The New York-New Jersey Super Bowl committee became quite the party poopers when they announced restrictions on Super Bowl tailgating. You know, if you were gonna stand out in the freezing cold to tailgate anyways.
“You will be allowed to have food in your car and have drink in you car. And provided you’re in the boundaries of a single parking space, you’ll be able to eat or drink right next to your car. However you’re not going to be able to take out a lounge chair, you’re not going to be able to take out a grill and you’re not going to be able to take up more than one parking space,” Super Bowl XLVIII Committee CEO Al Kelly told ESPN.com’s Jane McManus.
So Big Boss Beer and the McKinney Ten Percent came up with a very New York inspired solution. When you can’t spread out, go up. The idea is to build a multilevel platform in the back of your pick-up truck for your tailgating needs.
It is a cool idea and interesting video despite having several obvious logical flaws. Driving down the high way with that thing, you’d probably not clear several bridges so it’d have to collapse and erect. You could bring it in pieces and put it together I suppose. What if it is windy?
Still, this is a serious idea and they’re inviting architects, contractors, carpenters, car customizers—anyone who loves building and beer–to help them build this Big Boss Beer Tailgate Tower.
The easier idea here, is to get multiple friends together to park in the four spots next to one another, each with a different level in their truck bed and have a plank connecting each platform. Of course that requires having 2-3 friends who have pick up trucks.
