National Signing Day is rapidly approaching and for one of the nation’s top uncommitted recruits, Rashaan Evans (Auburn, AL. Auburn) that means his final in-home visits could set the stage for an awkward situation at a birthday nonetheless for his grandfather.

According to BamaOnline, Kirby Smart from the Alabama Crimson Tide pushed back Friday’s in-home visit with the five-star outside linebacker to Saturday when Auburn Tigers head coach Gus Malzahn will also be making his final in-home visit to see the 6-3, 220-pound recruit.

So will Smart and Malzahn help sing happy birthday to Evan’s grandfather who is celebrating his 80th birthday on Saturday?

"“That we don’t know. We haven’t figured that part out yet. They may butt heads- I don’t know,” laughed the elder Evans. “My understanding is there’s not a particular time. I just know that both of them are coming and will be a part of the festivities. How long they’ll stay, I don’t know.“They may just come, spend some time with Rashaan, shake a few hands, and then leave. I know they’re both planning on making an appearance. It will probably go late into tomorrow night. There’s no telling when the party will end. The party is a late-type party.”"

The world of recruiting can bring in some fascinating stories and the potential of Malzahn and Smart crossing paths in the living room of the Evans house would be a funny sight to see.

Evans is being recruited to play the “Jack” linebacker spot in Alabama’s 3-4 defense while he is being recruited to play the “Star” at Auburn which is a hybrid linebacker/safety position.

Evans is the nation’s No. 15 overall recruit according to the 247Sports composite rankings, No. 1 outside linebacker and No. 2 recruit in the state of Alabama behind Alabama commit Marlon Humphrey.

He is scheduled to make his announcement on Feb. 5 during ESPNU’s national signing day coverage.
