One of the most persistent rumors at the moment is that New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony will opt-out of his current contact at the end of the season to sign with the Chicago Bulls. There’s no doubting that Anthony will hit the market this summer, but choosing his destination in January is a bit hasty.

Still, everyone is chiming in on where Melo will go, and the growing consensus is that Chicago will be the landing spot. But according to NBA writer Jared Zwerling, not everyone is sold on the idea of Carmelo Anthony playing for the Bulls in 2014-15.

"From an NBA agent close to the Knicks, Anthony is “too Hollywood” to play in Chi-Town. “He wants to play in New York or Los Angeles,” the agent said. And a source close to Anthony said that “he likes the big market” for hoops and lifestyle."

Chicago is a pretty large market and the lifestyle in Chicago is one of the finer lifestyles in the country. But there’s really no competing with Los Angeles or New York, and if Melo is seeking that type of lifestyle, he may choose somewhere other than Chicago.

Then again, if he’s making his decision based on lifestyle and not basketball, maybe the Bulls don’t want Melo anyways.
