Jason Worilds is set to become a free agent in March, where he will be one of the top available outside linebackers on the market Worilds is expected to generate plenty of interest from around the league as a potential starter, which has to leave the Pittsburgh Steelers worried about his departure.

Worilds has said that he would be interested in re-signing with the Steelers, but only with some conditions.

He wants to have a starting job guaranteed.

“If the circumstances are right, for sure,” Worilds told ESPN.com. “They haven’t been right for me in the past. I wouldn’t want to fall back into (not starting) again.”

There is some good news for Worilds, however.

Veteran outside linebacker LaMarr Woodley is a top candidate to be released by the Steelers in the offseason as they attempt to maneuver under the salary cap, so Worilds could be one of the team’s priorities if they would like to have him start opposite last year’s first-round pick, Jarvis Jones.

Despite getting just 11 starts in 2013, Worilds led the Steelers with eight sacks.
