The New York Knicks were rumored to be interested in Andrew Bynum back when he was cut by the Chicago Bulls, but that interest seemed to evaporate along with all the other teams in the NBA. But after Bynum signed with the Indiana Pacers on Saturday, it was revealed that the New York Knicks made a strong push to sign Bynum but came up short.

Per the NY Post:

"“The Knicks were very aggressive in the end,” his New York-based agent David Lee told The Post. “In the end, they did everything they could.”"

This seems to epitomize the Knicks season of coming up short no matter what they do. Signing Bynum hardly would have changed the Knicks fortunes this season but it likely would have helped. Marc Berman noted in his piece that the Knicks did all they could to sign Bynum but couldn’t.

Now the Knicks will have to try and figure things another way as trade rumors continue to swirl and the Carmelo Anthony drama isn’t getting any better.
