The Denver Broncos are 2.5 point favorites to win the Super Bowl.  Here are a few things to keep in mind.

Battle of the Quarterbacks: Peyton Manning is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all-time.  If the Broncos win, Manning would complete the greatest single-season ever by a quarterback.  Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson is in his second season as a pro football player.  He is one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL, and has the opportunity to elevate himself to a PTP with a Seahawks win (Prime Time Player, according to Dick Vitale).

Complete toss-up: The Broncos have the number one overall offense, and the Seahawks have the number one overall defense.  The Seahawks have the seventeenth best offense, and the Broncos have the nineteenth best defense.  Both teams have weapons to combat the other team’s weapons, which means the game is a complete toss-up.

The “shut everybody up” factor: Tiger Woods said he is rooting for the Denver Broncos, and he enjoys watching Peyton Manning, “Let’s be honest, he got scrutinized pretty hard when he left [the Colts] that he would never be the same after his neck surgery, and it’s right, he’s not the same; he’s better. That’s cool to see. That’s cool to see the hard work that he put in to shut everybody up.”  Quote courtesy of latinopost.com.

I think Marshawn Lynch subscribes to the “shut everybody up” factor as well.  He doesn’t like speaking to the media, and a win would keep the critics silent.

Richard Sherman does not want everyone to shut up.  If the Seahawks win, expect another great, or not so great, post-game interview.

Complete non-factor: The weather. Forecast is for low 40s with minimal wind.

My Super Bowl prediction comes down to agreeing with Tiger Woods.  Peyton Manning is better than ever, and has put in the work to win his second Super Bowl.
