If you are asking LeBron James about the future plans of New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony, you’re barking up the wrong tree. That’s according to the Miami Heat star himself who recently told Mitch Abramson of the New York Daily News he has no idea what Melo plans to do at season end when he becomes a free agent.
"“I don’t know (what he’s thinking),” James said before Saturday night’s game between the Heat and Knicks at the Garden. “I’m a good friend of his but I don’t know what his mind is saying or what’s going through his mind. He loves to play basketball and just like the rest of us — we want to win. That’s the number one thing. When you do something your whole life you want to win at it and you want to work at it. You don’t want it to be easy but you want to give yourself an opportunity to win. But I don’t know what’s going through his mind.”"
It’s pretty doubtful James would specifically know any plans of Anthony’s, let alone spark a wildfire by suggesting otherwise. Still, James can be a free agent at season end (like Carmelo) and you can’t help but think the two will at some point discuss the possibility of playing together.
It’s very unlikely to happen, but one would guess it would be a topic of conversation at some point.
