The Chicago Bulls brought on D.J. Augustin hoping that he’d fill out a nice bench role and help keep the team afloat during their dreadful 2013-14 season. But after being waived by the Toronto Raptors and scooped up by the Bulls, Augustin has seemingly revived his career and is once again turning heads in the NBA.

Chicago Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau isn’t surprised by Augustin’s success, stating that the guard was already talented before he came to Chicago.

Per the Chicago Tribune:

"“We knew he had the capability because he already had done it,” Thibodeau said. “His (four) years in Charlotte told you he was capable of playing well. And I thought he had some really good moments in Indiana (last season). … I knew he was hard to guard.”"

Augustin’s success in Chicago has many Bulls fans hoping he’ll return and have a larger role in 2014-15. His great season will likely raise his price tag above what the Bulls want to pay, but that just means Augustin is due a nice contact and a likely starting spot somewhere else next season.
