The Orlando Magic have dug their heels in the ground in recent weeks suggesting they have no plans to trade Arron Afflalo. But according to Hoops Rumors, that’s a notion fellow league executives aren’t buying.

Via Chuck Myron’s chat:

"Will the Magic trade Afflalo, and if so to whom?Execs around the league seem to think the Magic will trade him, but I’m not so sure. The Magic are under no pressure, and it’s a seller’s market with Afflalo, who’s having a career year. There’s certainly something to be said for selling high, but unless he has a major regression after the All-Star break (and remember, the Magic have already played 49 games), they can wait to deal him this summer."

Trading Afflalo is a tough call. Yes, he’s been playing out of his mind this season but it’s not as if they play came out of nowhere. He’s always been a talented player but he’s seemingly taken a step forwards in his offensive abilities, which when combined with his defensive skill makes him an all-around player. Add in that he’s signed to a relatively team friendly deal, that’s not easy to move.

Of course, the Magic have plenty of holes to fill on their roster and if Afflalo can bring them a key player in return, that’s a difficult offer to turn down.
