Seattle Seahawks linebacker Malcolm Smith went from piece of the league’s best defensive unit to Super Bowl MVP and it has thrust him into the spotlight. Smith’s older brother told him to enjoy the moment, because it doesn’t last forever and can leave quicker than you expect.

I just told him to enjoy the moment, go out in pregame and take some pictures because you never know when it could end and you may never be back again,’’ Steve Smith said, via Paul Schwartz of the New York Post. “I think he took a lot from my experience and just savoring the moment and knowing it can be done any time, things change in a minute. He really took advantage of his opportunity.’’

To clarify, his brother is not Carolina Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith, but former the former Giants receiver with the same name. He seemed like he could become a dominant receiver after recording a 107 passes in the 2009 season, but a knee injury changed the path of his career.
