This season hasn’t been one that the New York Knicks will want to remember, as the year has been filled with drama at all levels. From the J.R. Smith benching to the ongoing Carmelo Anthony drama, Knicks fans don’t have much to be happy about and the 19-29 record isn’t helping anything either.

Earlier in the year it seemed like Mike Woodson was on his way out as the Knicks coach but the rumors of him being fired died down. Those rumors have flared up once again with one report stating Woodson could be gone by the the time the trade deadline rolls around.

Per Steve Popper from The Record:

"Woodson’s words not encouraging for the team’s fading chances and in particular, the usually positive Stoudemire’s words not encouraging for Woodson, whom one league source said could be removed before the Feb. 20 trade deadline."

Firing Woodson may turn the team around, but the roster needs a lot of help from whoever is brought in to replace him. No one is going to buy rumors that Woodson is going to be fired until the Knicks actually give him the boot, but if New York wants a coaching change, they’re running out of time to make one.
