The TCU Horned Frogs had a disappointing 4-8 season. They’re recruiting class wasn’t as strong as some of the other’s in the Big 12, but they’ve been competitive despite that in the past. This year’s class includes just one four-star prospect, running back Varshaun Nixon, a solid signing. They’re class includes 12 three-star prospects as well, including a pair of quarterbacks: Foster Sawyer and Grayson Muehlstein.
“Very rarely are you going to have two guys of their ability come to the same place,” head coach Gary Patterson said, via the Ft. Worth Star Telegram. “I think it has a lot to do with the kind of people they are and they’re also competitors. They competed with each other at our camps, and they’re friends and they get along. It’s a tribute to them. Because it’s not like there weren’t other people trying to get them. They’re both coming here because they love TCU. They want this kind of degree, but they also want to play big-time football.”
There was some disagreement on ranking the class. Scout had TCU with the 38th best class, 247 Sports had them at 42nd, then Rivals had them down at 51st. ESPN only ranks the top 40 classes.
