The NBA trade deadline is approaching fast which means that the Detroit Pistons will likely be very active when it comes to trying to right the ship. So far the Pistons have been floating around in trade rumor circles but the team has started to push back against some of the things being reported.

After the Washington Wizards were linked to Greg Monroe, the Pistons decided to pull him off they race block a bit, a move that appeared as if it would guarantee Monroe stays in Detroit. Joel Brigham of Basketball Insiders thinks otherwise as he noted the Pistons are likely to trade either Monroe or Josh Smith will be traded at the deadline.

"I think there’s a good chance they’ll move either Monroe or Smith, because I just don’t know how they can justify keeping both. The Smith experiment at small forward has officially failed, which means if they keep Monroe in pay him, the two highest players on the roster will both be power forwards."

Of the two players, Pistons fans would love to see Smith be the one traded as he’s been a failed experiment since signing in the offseason. Monroe is a guy the Pistons may want to sign long-term, meaning if someone wants Josh Smith’s big contract this year, they’re likely to get it.
