At one point and time, Aldrick Robinson looked like he would emerge as a consistent wide receiver for the Washington Redskins. It never manifested as outside of a few impressive games, Robinson has been unable to maintain any consistency.

Despite that, the Redskins have decided to give Robinson one more opportunity as they re-signed the wideout to a one-year, $570K contract on Thursday.

Robinson was a ‘exclusive rights free agent’ so Washington wasn’t fearful that another team could swoop in and grab him, it was just a matter if they wanted to waste a roster spot on him or not. However, at $570,000 dollars, bringing him back was understandable.

"Redskins WR Aldrick Robinson signed a 1-yr, $570k extension this week. Was an “exclusive rights” free agent this offseason."

Now out of the Mike Shanahan/Kyle Shanahan shadow, it’ll be up to Robinson to find himself a role in the Redskins offense moving forward under Jay Gruden. Currently he figures to be behind both  Leonard Hankerson and Pierre Garcon, though could eventually find significant playing time if the oft-injured Garcon can’t stay healthy.
