The Green Bay Packers have a handful of free agents that are set to hit the open market and as expected, most are being linked as potential candidates to end up with the New York Giants.

Wide receiver James Jones is no different as the former San Jose State alum could potentially fit with the Giants, this according to ESPN New York.

James has ties to new Giants offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo, who spent last season as the Green Bay Packers quarterback coach.

"Of this group, I think Jones, who is 6-foot-1, makes the most sense for the Giants. His history with new offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo in Green Bay could help (or hurt, I guess, if McAdoo didn’t like the guy). He won’t break the bank, which makes sense given what they’re already paying Cruz and the other needs they have for their salary cap room this offseason. And while he may not produce at Nicks’ peak levels, the new Giants offense may not need him to do so."

Jones would essentially fill in the spot expected to be vacated by Hakeem Nicks, though it remains to be seen if the Giants would prefer to put Ruben Randle on the outside opposite Victor Cruz.
