When Marcus Smart shoved a Texas Tech fan on Saturday night, the basketball world was abuzz with what caused the incident and what will happen in the fall out. One of the questions regarding the fallout from the incident is how this will affect Smart’s draft status this summer.

According to Adam Zagoria from Zagsblog, who spoke with Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress, the incident isn’t likely to hurt Smart’s draft status as his game on the court is going to be what dominates the conversation in a good or bad way.

"“I don’t think this incident will affect his stock much either way,” he said. “More concerning is the way he’s been playing the last month or so. That could absolutely damage his stock.”"

It seems that Smart’s shooting problems might drop his draft stoic more than this shoving incident, as it doesn’t appear the story has any legs with NBA executives.

Obviously the NBA is sensitive about player and fan interaction, especially post-Malice at the Palace, but if Smart’s stock dips it won’t be from this most recent incident.
