The market for pitchers in baseball seemed to dip after Matt Garza signed his contract with the Milwaukee Bucks, and that has affected the offseason of the remaining top pitchers in free agency. One of those guys is former Angels ad Royals starter Ervin Santana, as he’s found it hard to find work after the Garza deal.

On Monday we learned that the Baltimore Orioles’ interest in Santana had changed from casually interested to aggressively pursuing, but one team not in on Santana are the Toronto Blue Jays. Despite showing interest earlier in the offseason, the Jays are not one of the teams closing in on a deal for the starter.

Santana has dropped his asking price but that’s apparently still not enough for the Blue Jays to get actively involved in signing Santana. There may be interest if Santana remains on the market but it’s starting to look like he’ll be snatched up and that seems to be okay with the Blue Jays.
