The New York Knicks remain convinced the Boston Celtics will trade point guard Rajon Rondo.

That may be true, assuming the Celtics get a deal that’s simply too good to be true. Outside of that, there’s little chance the Celtics make such a move, this according to CSNNE.com.

NBA insider A. Sherrod Blakely told CSNNE that Boston would only trade Rajon Rondo in an ‘irresistible’ deal:

"“It’s going to have to be a Brooklyn Nets-type of deal, one that is just too irresistible to pass up,” Blakely said. “It’s going to have to be better than that deal. It’s going to have to include some type of young, talented up-and-coming player, probably is going to have to involve multiple first round picks, they’re probably going to have to be unprotected, it has to be one of those deals that Danny Ainge looks at and says, ‘There’s no way I can turn this deal down.'”"

With Rondo still under contract through next season, Boston doesn’t need to be in a rush to make a move. Of course, history shows the Celtics (under Danny Ainge) tend to wait until the final hours of the NBA’s trade deadline so nobody is really safe until that final second ticks down.
