The New Orleans Pelicans appear to be in a bit of disarray.

A night after benching Tyreke Evans for what the team is calling ‘internal issues’, Chad Ford of ESPN (via Hoops Rumors) reports the Pelicans are looking to make trades which will improve them in the short term.

"Ford speculates that the team has given up hope of landing a top-five draft choice this year, which the Pelicans would need to do to keep the pick from going to the Sixers."

While Anthony Davis has been a bright spot for the Pelicans, the rest of the team has struggled and it’s clear the roster as currently constructed is not going to work.

Coming into the season, the hope was that the Pelicans had amassed a collection of talent that oppositions would find difficult to guard. But it appears the collection of talent amassed struggles to play together.

It’s been rumored the Pelicans are among the most active teams in trade talks and both Tyreke Evans and Eric Gordon have had their name leaked as potential trade candidates.
