The Sacramento Kings are going nowhere, which is both a very good thing and a very usual thing. The team isn’t moving to Seattle, that drama has been settled, but they’re not moving up the standings either as they’re currently dead last in the Western Conference and 13 games out of the playoff picture.

A season can be turned around after the All-Star break and the trade deadline, which is what the Kings may look to do this upcoming week. According to Marc J. Spears from Yahoo! Sports, the Kings are looking to acquire a true point guard, even though they’re still high on Isaiah Thomas.

"The Kings still like Isaiah Thomas, but they are also interested in acquiring a true point guard as the trade deadline approaches, a source said."

Sacramento is only the fourth or fifth worst team in the NBA and can still turn things around and make a playoff push. That’s not likely, but acquiring a true point guard is clearly a goal and could be setting something up for success down the road rather than this season.
