Missouri defensive end Michael Sam has come out ahead of the NFL draft, some say it could’ve been bad timing. Some NFL personnel and scouts are saying his draft stock could fall because his sexual orientation could be a distraction.

The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart went on to rip the NFL’s  belief that a gay teammate would be a locker room distraction. He goes the typically route of pointing out the numerous NFL players with serious and heinous crimes on their resume.

He even airs comments from Jonathan Vilma about a hypothetical gay teammate that were controversial. Vilma has since apologized.

“It was a poor illustration of the example I was trying to give on the context, so I do apologize for that,” Vilma said Monday night on CNN, via theNew Orleans Times-Picayune.  “I was trying to explain that whenever you have change into something that’s been set in stone for so long, something that’s been going for so long, that change always comes with a little resistance. .”
