The NBA trade deadline is almost here but one name that is making waves is a guy who’s likely not going anywhere. Los Angeles Lakers guard Steve Nash made headlines on Monday evening when a report surfaced claiming he told close friends he’s planning on retiring from basketball.
Retiring at the end of the season makes sense for Nash, but he’s letting fans know they shouldn’t believe the hype. Nash openly denied the retirement rumors that were started on Monday, saying he plans on playing out the remainder of his contract.

The Lakers may not keep Nash after this season, but if they do it sounds like he’s ready to honor the contract he signed. Nash likely won’t stick around much longer in the NBA but if he’s not ready to retire, you better believe he’s not going anywhere despite what may be printed about him.
