With the NBA trade deadline rapidly approaching, teams are starting to stand out as either buyers or sellers in the market. The Atlanta Hawks have put together a pretty respectable season, and while they’re far from a postseason lock, it appears they may be willing to make some deals to secure a piece that makes them into true contenders.

According to Basketball Insider’s writer Yannis Koutroupis, the Hawks are one of the teams he expects to be active at the deadline, although they won’t be desperately active.

"I think they’re open for business, but content either way – which is really an ideal position to be in when you think about it. I agree, with Horford they could have been really good. There was some talk earlier in the year that they could trade Millsap, but I just don’t see why. They’re playing too well with him to consider that."

Atlanta won’t force a deal if it’s not there, but it’s nice to see that they’re at least willing to actively look for a trade they may like. Whether that’s buying a player or selling one is an entirely different nut to crack.
