One of the more prolific wide receivers in all of college football last season, Oregon State’s Brandin Cooks is getting ready to take that next step in his career as he prepares for the 2014 NFL Draft, choosing to bypass his final year in Corvallis.

As with any other player, there have been a lot of comparisons thrown around about Cooks, but one that seems to stick the most is that to Carolina Panthers wideout, Steve Smith.

With both possessing just about the same measurables in height and weight, it certainly makes sense. But what’s more important is what happens on the field, and that’s where Cooks more than welcomes the comparisons to Smith.

"“He’s not scared to do anything,” Cooks said. “He’s not scared to go over the middle. … That’s how I like to see myself, too — a fearless receiver who’s not afraid to do those things.”"

Last season in the Pac-12, Cooks had one of the best singular performances of any player in the country, leading the nation with over 1,700 yards receiving.
