The Houston Texans have a new head coach in Bill O’Brien, and what he plans to do with the team in the future is unclear. One of the biggest items on the agenda is what to do about the quarterback situation and primarily Matt Schaub and his 2014 contract.

Schaub is taking the public opportunity to praise O’Brien though.

“I met with him very briefly,” Schaub said of O’Brien. “Just a short conversation. But it was very productive. It was while he was still trying to get the rest of the staff together and go through that process. As well as transitioning to Houston.”

“Very enthusiastic, and a great coach,” Schaub said, via the team’s website. “Just very intelligent. Knows football. Knows offense and knows the game. Very productive. Very intense about what he does and that’s what we like as players.”

Schaub has a $10 million dollar contract with another million in roster bonuses due to him in 2014.
