The New Orleans Saints parted ways with corner-backs Jabari Greer and Patrick Robinson just a couple of days ago and will be looking to add some solid depth at the position.

One man who stands out from the rest of the corners who will become available is Carolina Panther defensive back Captain Munnerlyn.

According to ESPN’s Mike Triplett, the New Orleans Saints could be targeting their division rival once NFL free agency begins.

Captain is coming off his best year yet, recording 73 combined tackles, three sacks and two interceptions that he’s taken to the house. He has a career mark of 280 tackles, 48 assists, five sacks, seven interceptions and five touchdowns as a Panther.

If the Saints do in fact sign Munnerlyn, he’ll serve as their number two corner behind Keenan Lewis. New Orleans got their defense on track after a terrible 2012 performance, one of the worst defenses this team has had during the Drew Brees era.

They could definitely make a huge splash if they’re able to pull it off. Carolina will do everything they can to prevent this from happening.
