Free agency in the NFL is approaching and teams are going to start making moves to create cap space. Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Marcedes Lewis was considered to be a potential salary cap casualty, but Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports doesn’t think he’ll be one of the players cut.

From CBS Sports:

"Many expect them to cut TE Marcedes Lewis, who has done very little since getting the franchise tag, but I’m told he will be back, despite a $6.7M salary. Babin, set to make $6M, could be a different story. Either way, the Jags have $50M in cap space."

Lewis only caught 25 passes for 359 yards and four touchdowns. His stats could be blamed on shaky quarterback play, and them trying to run the ball to take it out of their quarterbacks hands. Still, if the Jaguars want him they can have him without too many issues with the cap.
