The Detroit Lions purged some veterans from their roster last week and one of the cuts was made to safety Louis Delmas. While he’s not close minded about returning to the Lions in 2014, the free agent safety is going to be visiting some teams first to see what his value is.
One of those teams are the Pittsburgh Steelers. According to Ian Rapoport from NFL Network, the Steelers are going to be meeting with Delmas later this week to see if they want to aft the veteran to their aging defense.
#Lions S Louis Delmas visiting the #Steelers today, per source… which is interesting. Would be the spot Ryan Clark occupied.

It’s clear that the Steelers are looking at all options when it comes to making defensive changes in 2014, and Delmas is apparently on the list. He’s already been linked to the Minnesota Vikings and Atlanta Falcons, as it appears there’s more of a market for Delmas than initially thought.
He won’t sign right away, but he’ll seemingly have plenty of offers to sift through.
