The Philadelphia Eagles surprised a lot of people last year when they came out of nowhere to make the playoffs with a head coach no one believed in who was running a system people were damning from the start. But Chip Kelly has turned the Eagles around in one season and this offseason will be spent looking into weapons that make the team even more explosive.

Eagles beat writer Jimmy Kempski breaks down some of the free agents that the Eagles cod target this offseason and one player could end up making Kelly’s offense even more outstanding — Ted Ginn Jr.

"Ginn also had a nice year with the Panthers as a receiver, catching 36 passes for 556 yards (15.4 per reception), and 5 TDs. More importantly, he excelled at getting yards after the catch, averaging 6.3 yards after the catch on his receptions. That would have led Eagles receivers last year, who, with the exception of Jason Avant. all had YAC averages in 2013 that were higher than their career YAC averages.Ginn could significantly upgrade the Eagles return units and give them another very speedy weapon in their offense."

Kempski points out that Ginn would be dangerous in the return game as well, making him a dual threat that the Eagles are looking for. It’s not a lock that they’ll pursue him, but guys like Ted Ginn will be who Philly is looking at, so why not just go get yourself the store model?
