San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis is a huge fan of curling. Not only is Davis an honorary captain of the United States men’s curling team, but he traveled to the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia to watch the team play and even dropped by the booth on the USA Network to call some of the action.

After Davis was done with his call, he stopped by for a brief interview with Al Michael on NBCSN to discuss the sport.

While he was sharing his thoughts on curling, Davis was asked whether or not he would possibly consider a career in the sport once the day was over. It was a light-hearted discussion, and Davis milked the opportunity to joke that he may seek out a career on the ice.

Could you become proficient enough to compete in curling in the 2018 Winter Olympics?” Michaels asked.

“Hey, the sky’s the limit,” Davis said. “Anything’s possible.”

Again, this was a light-hearted discussion, but it goes to show how much love he has for the sport.

It is unlikely that he will ever attempt to have a career in curling, but it sure would be entertaining to see a 6-foot-3, 250-pound physical freak serving as the Team USA skip.
