Arizona Cardinals safety Tyrann Mathieu is currently rehabbing from a torn ACL and LCL he suffered last season in a mean hit he took while returning a free kick against the St. Louis Rams.

During the rehab, the Cardinals have started a video series entitled Tenacious to chronicle his return to the field. In the second installment, Mathieu has some interesting quotes about himself, not that we should be surprised.

Mathieu said that already at the age of 14 he knew he was going to be a star at something. He just din’t know what it was going to be

"“Even if it was (as) a garbageman or a teacher, I was going to be one hell of a garbageman.”"

Mathieu also talked about the injury and rehab in the second video, entitled No Room For Pity.

"“I don’t feel the need to cry. I haven’t reached that moment where I am depressed and bummed out. Hopefully I can stay intact mentally.”"

A date for Mathieu’s return to the field has not yet been determined. It is possible that the Cardinals may have to start the season without him in their defensive backfield.
