Although the New York Knicks want to make a trade before Thursday afternoon’s trade deadline to impress star forward Carmelo Anthony, Anthony continues to say he doesn’t want to have any input on potential Knicks’ trades.

Anthony can become a free agent after this season by opting out of his contract and will likely do so. The Knicks, who would not be in the playoffs if the postseason started today, want to start impressing Anthony now by making a late run at the playoffs.

I’m pretty sure they would bring it to me, they would keep me up to date about what is going on,” Anthony told Al Iannazzone of the New York Daily News before the Knicks played the Grizzlies Tuesday night. “As far as making decisions and things like that, that’s their job. I’m pretty sure they’ll keep me informed about what’s about to happen or what’s going to happen.”

Anthony is averaging 27.3 points, 8.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.1 steals per game this season.
