The Los Angeles Clippers have been looking at ways to boost their frontcourt depth and that has led them down a path that lands them in the midst of trade rumors. With 48 hours left to go until the deadline, the Clippers are apparently starting to shop players in an effort to secure that frontcourt help they desire.

Ken Berger from CBSSports.com reports that the Clippers are shopping, among others, Matt Barnes to see if they can’t get a decent return.

The Clippers are starting to slide a little in the West, but they’re building themselves for a deep postseason run. They’re going to make the playoffs, but they cannot afford another early exit. Trading Barnes may sting a little, but in the long term it may end up helping the team turn things around and acquire a piece that leads to a postseason run and not an early defeat.
