The NBA trade deadline is about 24 hours away and that means teams are gong to be throwing players into trade talks in the 11th hour. One of those players is Luol Deng, as he’s been mentioned in rumors up to this point but nothing has come directly from sources.

Brian Windhorst from ESPN.com has changed that, reporting that the Cavs are fearful Deng won’t re-sign with them at the end of the season and are trying to trade him in an effort to save face.

This sort of backs up the gut feeling most were having about what the Cavs would do with Deng at the deadline. Sam Amico from FOXSports Ohio argues that the Cavs are playing well enough that they don’t have to make trades, but moving Deng would have more to do with saving face than it would keeping a winning team on the court.
