The Los Angeles Lakers have seemingly been trying to trade away Pau Gasol for most of his career, as he has come up in trade rumors on an annual basis. The Lakers must get paid by the rumor, as it Gasol’s name comes up so often that you’d think he’d have been traded by now, but the Lakers continue to hold onto him.

You can’t blame Los Angeles for not trying though when it comes to trading Gasol, as the team is offering their big man up to just about anyone. According to Ramona Shelburne of ESPNLosAngeles.com, the Lakers inquired about the Minnesota Timberwolves interest in trading for Gasol so he can play with Ricky Rubio.

"The Lakers did inquire about Minnesota’s interest in teaming Gasol with his Spanish countryman Ricky Rubio recently, according to a source, but those talks did not progress."

It’s likely that the Lakers were doing so to try and acquire Kevin Love, something that CBSSports.com reporter Ken Berger noted the team was trying to do on Tuesday. It’s unclear if Gasol will be moved by the deadline, but if he’d not it won’t be for a lack of trying.
