Future Hall of Fame defensive end Julius Peppers’ days with the Chicago Bears could be numbered. Peppers and the Bears were able to agree on a restructured deal last September, but will have $18.18 still counting against the organization’s salary cap in 2014.

Peppers had somewhat of an off-year with the Bears, his biggest game being an 11 tackle, 2.5 sack performance against the Baltimore Ravens. With this year possibly being his last in Chicago, he finished with 46 total tackles with seven and a half sacks and one interception.

Now during a press conference at the NFL Combine with Bears’ general manager Phil Emery and Marc Trestman, Emery spoke about Peppers.

"“That would be a contract question, and I think I have had a very demonstrated history of not answering those questions. I will say that Julius is part of our football team. He is under contract. We’re all coming off an 8-8 season. We have a lot to improve upon and that is where our heads are at.” Emery on Peppers via ESPN Chicago."

This is going to be one interesting off-season for the Chicago Bears and their fans.
