New York Knicks’ guard Iman Shumpert has been a hot topic as Thursday afternoon’s 3:00 pm EST trade deadline approaches.

Shumpert went down with an injured knee in the Knicks’ 98-91 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans Wednesday night, which threw several teams off of his trail

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, the injury isn’t as bad as it could have been and Shumpert shouldn’t be out long.

That means Shumpert may still be traded, with the Los Angeles Clippers and Oklahoma City Thunder in talks to acquire him.

The Clippers have had discussions about Tyler Zeller, who is being shopped by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Zeller is now expendable because the Cavaliers’ acquisition of center Spencer Hawes from the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday morning, which included forwards Earl Clark and Henry Sims.

The Clippers have discussed sending rookie Reggie Bullock to the Cavaliers for Zeller, but could also send Bullock or forward Matt Barnes and point guard Darren Collison to the Knicks as part of a deal for Shumpert. The Knicks want to send Raymond Felton with Shumpert in any trade and that is something the Clippers probably want no part of.

Now that Shumpert has been deemed mostly healthy, the Oklahoma City Thunder could give up a first round pick for him.

The next few minutes will be interesting.
