It’s been expected that the Oakland Raiders would let running back Darren McFadden walk in free agency, but it appears the two sides are going to get together one last time to see if they can hammer something out.

According to Gil Brandt, a player rep for McFadden will meet with the team in the coming days to talk about a potential re-signing.

"Darren McFadden’s agent tells me he will meet w #Raiders on Sat. to discuss re-signing. Interesting to see value if he hits open mrkt."

There’s no doubt that McFadden is a talented running back when healthy, but that’s the problem – he never is. There’s really little reason for the Raiders to invest much in McFadden moving forward, especially with Rashad Jennings on the roster who has shown to be a more effective rusher.

It’s expected that McFadden will test the open market and could find a home with the Cincinnati Bengals thanks to their hiring of former Raiders offensive coordinator, Hue Jackson.

A deal between the Raiders and McFadden is highly unlikely.
