I remember I was playing Madden after my shift with FanSided was over and my little cousin came into the house freaking out. I asked him what his problem was and he told me the news.

“Browns just traded Richardson to the Colts.” My reply? “No they didn’t!”

I quickly got on my phone and looked on our FanSided app to confirm it (Oh by the way, if you haven’t downloaded the FanSided app on your iPhone or Android, please do so!) and sure enough, it was true. I couldn’t believe it.

I honestly thought that Richardson was the future of that franchise, but it goes to show that not a single player in this league is safe. I mean, unless you’re a player like Tom Brady, someone on that elite level.

Now according to Chris Wesseling on Twitter, Indianapolis Colts general manager Ryan Grigson was asked if he would make the trade for Trent Richardson all over again. He simply replied with Yes.

Richardson was unable to record a single 100 yard rushing game this year with either the Cleveland Browns or Indianapolis Colts.

His best game of the year was a 60 yard game with one touchdown performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars back in September. It was surprising to see the young running back struggle, after rushing for nearly 1,000 yards and punching it in for six points 11 times during his rookie campaign.

Hopefully he gets back to 2012 form in 2014.
