The Philadelphia 76ers shocked a lot of people when they acquired Danny Granger from the Indiana Pacers, but it’s a marriage that likely won’t last long. Almost as soon as he was traded, many expected Danny Granger to ask to get out of Philly and sing with a contender.

While that request for a release hasn’t yet come, ESPN.com’s Marc Stein expects something to happen very soon one way or another.

The Miami Heat are expected to be the landing spot for Granger if he’s bought out by the 76ers, as Miami could use him in more ways than one.

Not only would Granger provide excellent bench depth, but he’s wealthy with knowledge of the Pacers schemes and is likely a bit miffed about being traded. A playoff showdown between the two would be amazing, but a buyout by the Sixers would need to happen first.
