The NBA trade deadline has passed, but there are still a handful of players likely to change teams before March 1st. Glen Davis is being courted by the Los Angeles Clippers and Brooklyn Nets, but he’s not the only one being eyed by other teams.
Charlotte is in the process of buying out Ben Gordon, and once the Bobcats have completed that move, Gordon is expected to see some attention in the market. One team that could make a run at Gordon are the Chicago Bulls — Gordon’s old team.
Per Bobcats beat writer Rick Bonnell:
"Ben Gordon is reportedly in negotiations with the Bobcats to buy out what’s left of his contract. That would give him a chance to sign with another team in time to be on a playoff roster. The Chicago Bulls could be interested."
This is interesting, as not only is Gordon something the Bulls have been lacking, as their struggles to find a true shooting guard have been rough, but Bonnell mentions the Bulls first and not the Miami Heat, which is usually the case.
Chicago is an intriguing landing spot for Gordon, but they likely won’t even give him a look unless they know it won’t put them over the luxury tax.
