On Friday night, rumors began to leak suggesting that at one point in recent weeks, the San Francisco 49ers discussed a trade that would have sent head coach Jim Harbaugh to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for multiple draft picks.

Multiple respected insiders from across the league then began reporting conflicting info which lead to San Francisco CEO Jed York to squash the rumors on Twitter, suggesting it was not true.

As for the head coach? It doesn’t appear that Jim Harbaugh took them too seriously, suggesting they were nothing short of ridiculous.

"“The report? Ridiculous. Ridiculous. No. Ridiculous,” Harbaugh told CSNBayArea.com on Saturday morning."

Harbaugh is of course an Ohio native and the Browns were in need of a head coach after axing their entire front office a few weeks back, but the rumor did seem a little odd given San Francisco has adamantly suggested re-signing Harbaugh is a priority this offseason.

There may have been some concern that Harbaugh may not re-sign, which could have prompted such talk – but for now it appears San Francisco is looking to extend their head coach.
