The St. Louis Rams hold the second overall pick in the upcoming 2014 NFL Draft and what they plan to do with the selection is unknown.

Though if the Houston Texans decide to take somebody other than Jadeveon Clowney with the first overall pick, the Rams could look to trade the pick – this according to the Boston Globe.

"And if the Texans skip over Clowney, there could be a major derby for the No. 2 pick, as the Rams already have significant investments in the defensive line and would like to trade back for a package of picks like they did with the choice that became Robert Griffin III two years ago."

While Clowney would be a solid investment for the Rams, they have a lot of money tied up in their defensive line and are in much bigger need of additional assets. So the sentiment does make some sense, despite passing on a player as talented as Clowney.

Multiple teams are said to be interested in trading up, so if he is available, the Rams will likely have their choice of suitors.
