The New York Jets are looking for someone to come in and help fix their quarterback problem, and it appears they’re giving a look at a guy who proved in 2013 that he was The Wolf of the NFL who fixes your quarterback problems and cleans up the mess.

Josh McCown demonstrated in Chicago that he can be a great backup option, and that apparently has the Jets interested in acquiring his services.  According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, McCown is on the Jets radar for this upcoming free agent period.

"The Daily News has learned that the Jets are eying Bears quarterback Josh McCown in free agency to provide a viable alternative in case Smith regresses … The Jets, who are expected to release Mark Sanchez next month, believe McCown would be a quality backup."

The only question is would McCown come to New York? He’s established that he has some gas left in the tank but doesn’t want to drive away from Chicago to use it up. It’s not impossible to think McCown would come to the Jets, but if the Bears can afford to keep him, he’s going to stay where he’s at and it’s up to the Jets to convince him otherwise.
